Updated ANPC Consumer Information Requirements
What is changing
According to a recent ANPC draft order, the consumer information that businesses must display in stores and online will be updated. Under the proposed changes, all businesses would have to replace outdated ANPC contact details, reflect the authority’s new territorial structure and, for the first time, display a visible link to www.anpc.ro on the homepage of commercial websites. The draft also updates the official information posters and contact details that businesses must use. The new rules would apply 30 days after publication in the Official Gazette.
Why this matters
Businesses that sell products or services to consumers, including online retailers and booking platforms, would need to update their in-store notices and website information to reflect the new ANPC requirements. This includes replacing outdated contact details, using the updated official materials and adding a visible link to the ANPC website on their homepage.
The EU Updates Market Abuse Rules for Listed Companies
What is changing
A new EU Regulation, which will apply from 5 August 2026, updates the rules designed to prevent insider trading and market manipulation. It clarifies when company directors and other senior executives may sell shares during restricted trading periods and introduces new requirements for monitoring suspicious trading activity, including transactions carried out through algorithmic trading systems.
Why this matters
Listed companies will need to update their internal procedures for approving trades by directors and senior executives during closed periods. Investment firms, market operators and other financial market participants will also need to adapt their market surveillance systems to comply with the revised EU requirements.
